Rules and Regulations

Payment is to be made in full with entries by studio cheque or money order (no post dated cheques) no later that January 14th, 2013

LATE PAYMENTS will be accepted ONLY IF SPACE PERMITS; However the Late Payment Fee will be enforced.

Tentative Schedules will be sent to you no later than February 28th, 2013, (all studios attending the first venue in March will recieve their tentative schedules no later than the end of January 2013). If you have any requests you must submit them to us before our entry Deadline of January 14th, 2013. After this date requests cannot be taken into consideration as we will be working on scheduling immediately following.

Luv 2 Dance Competition Inc reserves the right to add or subtract days or move competition due to unforeseen circumstances

We encourage applause and cheering for dancers BEFORE AND AFTER THE PERFORMANCE, however screaming and whistling are STRICTLY PROHIBITED during the performances. It is not only distracting to the dancers but the adjudicators as well. We enforce good theatre etiquette at all of our venues. We will enforce a penalty off the dancers mark if his/her peers are screaming & whistling during the performance.

All cash awards are given to studio director

All videotaping and photography is STRICTLY prohibited. If you are caught videotaping or snaping photos, your device WILL be confiscated until the end of the competition weekend. This rule will be strictly enforced to ensure the safety and privacy of all dancers/studios.

A contestant making a second attempt to a routine may be adjudicated but cannot qualify for overalls (except in the Novice Division. It is up to the judges discretion for Serious & Junior Competitors under the age of 14.)

For the Dancer of The Year Category, ALL TINY MISS/MISTER COMPETITORS may make a 2nd attempt to perform their routine without penalty. For all other categories it will be up to the JUDGES discretion whether or not they will be penalized. All decisions are final.

Competitors may not compete against themselves in the SOLO CATEGORY. Groups/Duets/Trios have some exceptions depending on the circumstance and how many dancers are competing in each of the groups. This will be examined by the Director and a decision will be made accordingly.  If a competitor has more than one solo in the same category they must move up an age category or change to a different discipline with one of their routines

No Smoking, Food or Beverage inside auditorium at any of Luv 2 Dance Competition Venues

Prohibited video or flash photography inside the theatre

No live animals, fire pyrotechnic devices or sharp objects to be used

Luv 2 Dance Competition Inc reserves the right to cancel if enough entries are not received to run the competition (All registered studios will recieve a full refund in this circumstance)

Luv 2 Dance Competition Inc. reserves the right to determine the amount of all cash awards based on registration, at its discretion

By entering, parents/guardians, instructors, directors and contestants give their permission to Luv 2 Dance Competition Inc to use the pictures and performances in the promotion of Luv 2 Dance Competition Inc (this includes but is not limited to television, brochures, website, videos, programs and newspapers)

Refunds will not be made for any other reason except injuries (partial refund that is up to the directors discretion depending on when Luv 2 Competition is notified). UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE WILL THERE BE A REFUND GIVEN FOR ENTRIES CHANGED/PULLED OUT WITHIN 14 DAYS OF THE COMPETITION IN ATTENDANCE.

No smoking, eating or drinking is permitted in the competition area

By entering you agree that all judges decisions are final

Upon entering Luv 2 Dance Competition Inc it is agreed that teachers, competitors, parents and relatives will not hold Luv 2 Dance Competition Inc directors, employees, or anyone involved in the competition responsible or reliable for any damages, loss, or personal injury which they may sustain while participating in any activity connected with this competition no matter how caused to either the contestant or spectators

Any participant found vandalizing or causing a disruption at the competition is subject to disqualification and/or liable for payment of repairs

Competitors and their teachers are expected to demonstrate good sportsmanship and general support to ALL participants

TWO HAND CARTWHEELS ARE EXCEPTED IN JAZZ ROUTINES WITHOUT PENALTY, any other acrobatic tricks/tumbling found in a Jazz routine will have 1 mark per judge deducted or they must be placed in an Acro/Open Category. This will be enforced.

If music is inappropriate, the adjudicators have a right to deduct marks from that routine. This includes sexual content and racial slurs. Also a comment will be made to the studio director. THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED!

ROUTINES CANNOT DANCE OUT OF ORDER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!!! Please read below for special circumstances.

Please ensure MUSIC AND COSTUMING are age appropriate. Adjudicators find it very distracting when costuming and music are inappropriate. Please keep in mind that Luv 2 Dance Competition  is a family event! A comment will be made to the studio director if a Judge finds costuming unsuitable.

Make sure ALL music is cued, NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

If a dancer is missing/absent from a routine we will let adjudicators know, but for no circumstance shall that routine dance at a later time!!! This is very important in keeping the competition ON TIME.

•  We allow studio directors to bring wireless mics to hook up with the theatre equipment if required. They are available for rental if needed by the Theatre for an additional charge in most cases. Each venue has a different policy.  This fee is NOT included in your entry fees. You must contact the studio director in advance if a wireless mic is required.

VERY IMPORTANT: ONCE YOUR FINAL SCHEDULE IS SENT YOU WILL HAVE 72 HOURS FOR ANY FINAL ADJUSTMENTS. IF ANY CHANGES ARE MADE TO THE FINAL SCHEDULE AFTER THIS TIME PERIOD THERE WILL BE A $10 FEE PER CHANGE (NO EXCEPTIONS).  IF THERE ARE ANY CHANGES ON THE DAY OF THE COMPETITION THERE WILL ALSO BE A FEE PER CHANGE (NO EXCEPTIONS). IF YOU DO NOT RECIEVE YOUR FINAL SCHEDULE WITHIN ONE WEEK OF YOUR TENTATIVE PLEASE CALL THE DIRECTOR TO ENSURE YOUR SCHEDULES ARE RECIEVED.

IF A CHANGE IS MADE AT THE COMPETITION, A $25/FEE WILL BE APPLIED/CHANGE.

ALSO PLEASE READ THE CATEGORY REQUIREMENTS VERY CAREFULLY TO ENSURE THERE ARE NO DEDUCTIONS. THE DIVISION SEPERATIONS HAVE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS TO ENSURE FAIRNESS TO ALL DANCERS.
